For Students: Discover Careers (and Yourself!) with PrinciplesYou

For Students: Discover Careers (and Yourself!) with PrinciplesYou
For Students: Discover Careers with PrinciplesYou | Scoir

When choosing a career path to pursue, there are SO many considerations. 🤔 What interests me? What major should I declare? Do I possess the necessary skills for this job? Will this job fulfill me? Do I work better with a team or individually?

Now the real question is—how do I find the answers to all of these questions? One solution Scoir offers is PrinciplesYou!

For Students: Discover Careers (and Yourself!) with PrinciplesYou - Scoir dashboard

Taking the PrinciplesYou Character Assessment

PrinciplesYou is designed for the modern workforce that you'll be joining! Your results will give you a better understanding of how you’ll fit in, how jobs truly match your tendencies, and how you can work with different personalities in different fields. The assessment takes around 30-40 minutes to complete.

Access PrinciplesYou from your Scoir dashboard, from Careers in My Colleges, or from your profile. Try to carve out about 30-40 minutes to complete it, but if you leave the assessment midway through, you can pick up where you left off.

For Students: Discover Careers (and Yourself!) with PrinciplesYou - how to access PrinciplesYou Assessment

Rank the statements in the assessment based on how much you agree or disagree with them, and keep up with your progress at the top of the page.

Once complete, download a full report or go straight to your Career Matches based on the assessment. Results automatically upload into your My Drive!

Viewing Your Archetypes

In your report, you’ll see your Archetype, helping you better understand your tendencies and how you may operate in relation to others in the classroom and workforce.

Explore the other Archetypes to see people you are similar to, and to those you're not, to better understand yourself and others in a new way!

Discovering Career Matches

In Careers, filter by PrinciplesYou to see a list of best-fit careers based on your assessment results.

From there, dive in deeper by clicking into the career titles! Go to the Education tab to search colleges based on the career's general majors and specific majors.

You can also add academic preferences to better match with colleges that support the education requirements of specific careers.

Continuing Your Journey of Self-Discovery

Over time, go back to your PrinciplesYou results and dig into them more. The way you explore your results is up to you, but here are a few ideas. 💡

  • Choose a few character traits that stand out and write the aspects you agree (or disagree) with
  • List the traits that can help you on your journey and a few that could potentially get in your way
  • Share your results with your parents/guardians, counselors, and peers and discuss your findings with them
  • Keep track of your takeaways as your continue to revisit your results

Always improving based on your feedback!

We hope you enjoy PrinciplesYou! We’d love to know your thoughts and encourage you to share your feedback
