This latest partnership will allow Scoir to have access to a very experienced and innovative superintendent helping evolve solutions to meet the demands of today’s high schools.
West Chester, PA., July 6, 2020 -- Scoir, Inc. has partnered with Robert M. Avossa, Ed.D. of Palm Beach County, FL. to be an advisor on the company's fast-growing team. He will assume the position of Superintendent in Residence and consult with Scoir to help shape and evolve their high school solutions for public school districts.
Dr. Avossa joins Scoir after 25 years in public education. During that time, he held multiple roles including teacher, principal, executive leader, and school superintendent in Florida, North Carolina, and Georgia. Dr. Avossa ended this part of his career as school superintendent of Palm Beach County, the 10th largest district in the country with a student enrollment of nearly 200,000 students.
“My passion and career have always been focused on helping students find educational pathways to reach their full potential. As a first-generation college student myself, I know the importance of education and how it helped me reach my goals. Partnering with Scoir is a natural fit because of their dedication to fixing a flawed admissions process and doing right by students,” said Dr. Avossa.
In this role, Dr. Avossa will act as a trusted advisor to provide insight about how Scoir can continue to improve their solutions for public school districts. His extensive experience and track record as a superintendent speaks for itself; In 2018, Palm Beach County High Schools outperformed all other large urban Florida districts with a 91.7% graduation rate.
“One of our key focuses at Scoir is to continuously invest in the best talent to help us grow and be part of the paradigm shift needed in college admissions,” said Gerry McCrory, Scoir’s CEO. “With the addition of Dr. Avossa as a strategic and trusted advisor, we’ll be able to propel our progress and solutions for public high school districts in a way we never have before. I couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome him to the team,” said McCrory.
