Counselors can now create and send Final Reports using an improved layout with more flexibility đźš€

We’ve improved the overall experience for creating Final Reports and made updates to support Common App requirements for those leveraging the integration.

Let’s dive in:

Creating Final Reports

Final Reports are for sending a student's final transcript and grades after admission decisions are made, and these are typically sent only to the college where the student plans to enroll, though you may also send them to colleges where the student has been waitlisted or deferred based on your school settings.

Begin a Final Report for a student by opening their profile, selecting Manage Documents, and clicking Create.

Improved Layout with Pre-Filled Information

Now, you’ll see the Final Report updated with a more intuitive design, new fields, and alignment with Common App requirements for those opted into the integration. You’ll also gain increased flexibility, with your School Report template now pre-populating in each student’s Final Report; enabling you to create unique reports for each student without modifying the template.

The Final Report includes the following sections:

Student Information: Easily expand student information to see details like phone, email, and address.

Academics: What you see in the Academics section depends on how your School Reports Template is configured, such as whether you enable GPA or Class Rank. You can edit any pre-filled fields for each student as needed, but know these changes are not reflected in other reports.

đź’ˇ When counselors make GPA updates for the student in their profile or via bulk import, these will automatically be reflected in the Final Report (and all other reports). You'll see a banner letting you know this change occurred when working in saved draft, as well as the old value in case you need to revert. This makes it easier for counselors to create drafts of final reports for students before final grades are available, and then quickly complete them once transcripts and grades are updated in the system.

Transcripts (section for schools integrated with Common App): Schools leveraging the Common App integration will see an additional section for Transcripts. Here, you can upload Final Transcripts for each student directly within the report. Or, you can add them ahead of time individually, or by bulk, so they’re already attached.

Other Corrections or Updates: You’ll answer three "yes" or "no" questions that allow you to make corrections or updates prior to sending the report:

  • Did or will the student graduate as anticipated this year?
  • Have there been any changes to the senior year courses sent with the original School Report?
  • Do you wish to update your original evaluation of this applicant?

Counselor Information: View information for the counselor completing the report to see what populates on Scoir’s Final Report. If your school is integrated with Common App, you’ll see the assigned counselor’s information populated here.

Final Report Reminders for the Common App Integration

For schools currently leveraging the Common App Integration, please keep the following in mind when sending Final Reports:

  • At the end of July, when Common App goes offline until the next school year, you will not be able to send Final Reports through the integration. We’ll send additional reminders as we near that date to ensure you’ve sent all Final Reports through the integration that you intend to for students.
  • Final Reports are sent one college at a time. Sending to one Common App school does not send it to the others — you'll need to click Send for each college individually.
  • Once a Final Report is sent, you cannot send any other counselor forms. The only exception is sending a Counselor Recommendation or a Final Report to an additional college if needed. Please ensure all other materials are sent before sending a Final Report.
    • Unsent counselor forms are removed from all packets and can no longer be sent after sending the Final Report. If you need to send one you missed, you’ll need to unsubmit the Final Report first.
  • If the Final Report hasn't been downloaded by a Common App college yet, you will see an option to unsubmit. Unsubmitting will pull it back from all Common App colleges for that student.
